Yes indeed, the rumours are true… Carterton BMX track, which cost the Town Council £15,000 to build, several years ago, is due to be renovated and developed as a “pump track”.
The idea was presented to the Town Council Recreation Committee in January by Dan Sinnott, a local mountain biker from Shilton Park, the verdict at that time was that it was a project that the Council might be interested in, once we could establish more about potential users, cost, timelines and plans for publicity and official opening.
Extreme Wheels Day will take place on Saturday 8th August and as in previous years we will be staging a skateboard, inline and BMX party at the Dell Skate Park, Upavon Way, Carterton, followed by a live outdoor music festival which runs on into the evening.
The Extreme Wheels Days have been described as a celebration of Carterton Skate Park, they attract literally hundreds of people from all sections of society and everyone has a great day.

The annual skate park repaint is scheduled for Saturday 18th July (again, weather permitting). I will order the paint, brushes, rollers, paper suits, gloves etc. this week. What we really need is volunteers! Eggy and Dave Williams will organise and supervise the repaint on the day (I'll be working I'm afraid), the whole job only takes a couple of hours if lots of you lovely people muck in and help - let Eggy know if you can!

Now we have selected the T-shirt design we need to decide on a colour.
Please note that colours are subject to availability from the printer. If we find that we cannot get the winning T-shirt colour we will choose the second place colour.
The winning T-shirt colour will be announced on Sunday June 7th 2009.
